Point Sands is widely recognised to have simply one of the best stretches of beach and coastline in Kintyre and Argyll for both sunbathing in a sheltered location (depending on wind direction) and with beautiful fine golden sand with shallow and often warm water..
The water is clear with warm currents flowing through and with no large drop from a shelf as found in many other open coastlines it is a great place for the kids and families to swim.
There is adequate room for people with boats and dinghys to take them down to the beach and make use of the great space here, and as you can see from the photos below, great views exist of the location and right across to the islands of Gigha..
